JULIUS PRATT
Julius Pratt a local artist & acrylic instructor is creative in his medium and application. Techniques & styles are translated into his teaching method as well.
His teaching experience includes: Assistant to the Art Department at the University of Tennessee, a member of the Painting Department, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY; as well as a teacher of art (all levels) in the Greeneville City Schools, Greeneville, TN.
A member of the Guild of Charlotte Artists, he remains active in the Charlotte community.

Description:
Emphasis on individual instruction, creativity and desired goals. Realistic or abstraction. Use of material, experimentation, and introduction of techniques: impasto, wash, scumble, glazing, wet-into-wet, etc.

An award-winning artist with 25 years experience, Joni lives with art! In her 11th year of teaching, she enjoys sharing the knowledge and applications of oil she has developed over the years. Working with budding to advanced artists, her class size remains small to concentrate on individual attention.
Joni Purk is a member of Oil Painters of America and a signature member of national art organizations. She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries of Cincinnati, Charleston, Charlotte, Cary and Houston.
Former Gallery owner on East Bay in Charleston, SC - "The new Gallery and Studio in Carmel Village of South Charlotte keeps everything here at home."

Class Description for all J. Purk's classes:
Learn at your own pace and skill level with emphasis on individual instruction.
Joni will work with you improving your skills as an individual artist. Some areas to be included: traditional oil painting techniques and learning through instruction.
Group projects (optional) may include techniques such as, palette knife painting, still life, impressionism, plein air, 'what you can do to improve your paintings', and more.

Description:
A beginning watercolor class will cover basic watercolor techniques, including washes, underpaintings, composition, and beginning color theory. Each lesson will have a teacher demonstration and discussion of a technique or theory. Students will have time to work on their paintings and have individual instructions. Class will end with a critique of work, with a strong emphasis on what is working in a student's work & suggestions on how to improve one's paintings.

Instructor:
S. Siepert has been watercolor painting for 27 years. She has studied with Judy Greenberg, Barbara Jeffery Clay, Jerry Stitt, Jean Grastorf, Charles Reid, Tom Lynch and regional artists.
A signature member of the Watercolor Society of NC, Guild of Charlotte Artists, and Watercolor Artists of Charlotte.
Her work is described as loose and colorful. Siepert's work is representational and includes landscape, flora, portrait & still life.
